With turquoise blue waters, powdery white sands and lush tropical vegetation, Englishman’s beach fulfills all the requirements for a perfect beach getaway. This mostly secluded beach is located on the leeward coast of Tobago, and is sandwiched between Parlatuvier and Castara. The crystal clear waters of Englishman’s Bay beckon one to enjoy a spot of swimming or snorkeling. There are many small food stalls around this beach which sells authentic Caribbean fare. Additionally, some of the top tourist attractions of the area which include Fort King Geroge, National Fine Arts Center and Fort Bennett are situated close to the beach.

2. The Sublime, Scotland Bay

If you want to get away from the typical tourist haunts, then you should head to the sublime Scotland Bay beach which is located on the north western tip of Trinidad. This crescent shaped, pebbly beach is bordered by steep cliffs on one side. The beautiful waters of Scotland Bay is an enchanting shade of blue. The warm waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Unfortunately, this beach does not have any public amenities. There are numerous places of interest close to this beach which include the majestic lighthouses on Espalon Point and Chacachacare Island.

3. The Tiny, Castara Beach

This tiny beach is jam packed with activities to keep the whole family entertained. Spanning 308 meters, Castara beach is one of the smallest beaches of this Caribbean nation. This beach is located on the leeward side of the island of Tobago. The golden sands are perfect for sunbathing and to enjoy a relaxing stroll. The azure blue waters are ideal for swimming, diving and snorkeling. Visitors to this beach can hire one of the many colorful fishermen’s boats which lounge lazily of the sands and head out to the deep seas to enjoy a spot of fishing.

4. The Popular, Maracas Beach

This popular beach is located on the northern edge of the scenic island of Trinidad. Maracas Beach is located about a hour’s drive from Port of Spain – the capital city. The wide, white sandy beach is dotted with hundreds of swaying palm trees. The massive rollers which crash onto this beach makes it the ideal locale to enjoy body surfing and windsurfing. The beach is crowded on weekends but wears an almost deserted look on weekdays. Maracas beach has excellent public amenities. The numerous colorful food stalls which occupy the fringes of the beach serve mouthwatering local fare.

5. The Secluded, Pirate Bay Beach

Pirates Bay Beach is by far one of Tobago’s most scenic beaches. This beach has a decidedly romantic past. According to popular lore, pirates used this beach as a shelter in the centuries past. Today, this beach is known for its powdery, golden sands and for its cerulean blue waters. The warm waters of this beach are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The beach does not have any public facilities as such. Ideally, people who want to spend a day on this beach should bring their own food.
