1. Stowe Recreation Path

This 5.3 mile or 8.5 kilometer recreational trail is filled with fun activities for the whole family.

The mostly flat Stowe Recreation Path forges a path around wooded areas, beautiful creeks and charming farms. This path is ideal for adventure activities like hiking, biking, snowshoeing, rollerblading and jogging. The numerous world class restaurants which are located at regular intervals along this well maintained path adds to its overall appeal.

2. Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home

Hildene,  Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln’s sprawling summer homestead is situated on 412 acres of land in Manchester, Vermont. Set amidst majestic Mountain Ranges, the Lincoln Home welcomes thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Tourists visiting this grand mansion can opt for either self guided tours, scheduled tours or simply sign up for group tours to explore the remarkable house and grounds.

Visitors to Hildene are especially delighted to see the 1000 pipe Aeolian Organ, the numerous exhibits, the observatory and the Pullman Car Sunbeam. A visit to Hildene  is not complete with touring the spectacular gardens, farm, walking trails and extensive grounds.

3. Fairbanks Museum And Planetarium

The Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium is probably the largest museum of natural history in New England. This massive museum cum planetarium was founded by Franklin Fairbanks (St Johnbury industrialist) in 1889.

The museum is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Inside the massive Victorian building visitors can see a dazzling array of art and artifacts which includes mind boggling collection of natural science specimens, historic artifacts and ethnological items. To get a guided tour of the universe guests can hop across to the Lymann Spitzer Junior Planetarium, which was opened to the general public in 1961.

Bennington Battle Monument has earned the unique distinction of being the most important historic site in the State of Vermont. The Bennington Battle Monument is a majestic, 306 foot tall stone obelisk.

This monument is located in 15 Monument Circle, Bennington.

The Bennington Monument was erected to commemorate the Battle of Bennington which took place during the Revolutionary war in 1777. The ground floor of this monument is dedicated to important interpretative exhibits. The observation deck which is located at the apex of this monument is the best place to catch breathtaking views of the countryside.
