The Lao Valley is located in Central Maui and extends over an area of 10 miles. The centre of attraction in the park is the velvet green rock called the Lao Needle, which is 1200 ft tall. The state park is not only known for its thick vegetation, emerald peaks, and magnificent views, but also for its history. The Battle of Kepaniwai was fought here. The valley is ideal for hiking and trekking. You can also visit the Hawaii nature Center and have a look at the interesting interactive exhibits there.
The long golden sand beach with turquoise blue waters, beautiful views, unspoiled nature, less crowd make the beach the best and the most visited one on a Maui holiday. The large shore break, the cliffs, transparent waves, large trees add more beauty to the views. Though snorkeling and surfing are not recommended on this beach, the beach is popular for body-boarding, skim-boarding and body surfing. Even if you do not know swimming, big beach is a place where you can have a lot of fun and enjoy the beautiful views.
Maui Ocean Centre will offer you an incredible aquarium experience on the planet. 20 lively sharks, glowing jelly fish, humpback whales, sea horses, stingrays, octopus, sea turtles, tropical fishes, etc and multiple pools for interacting with the extraordinary sea life make the ocean center the best and very special one. All creatures swimming in the ocean center are from the Hawaiian waters. It is a fantastic place for children and marine life lovers. You can spend a lot of time here and enjoy feeding, touching and watching various underwater lives.
The semi-circular isle stretching less than 3 miles in Maui is a first-class diving spot. The shape of the isle cuts off strong waves and provides a secured environment for snorkeling and scuba diving beginners. The crater basin with less than 35 ft deep waters is ideal for beginners whereas experts can enjoy diving at the backside of the crater. The waters are crystal clear and you can encounter numerous colorful fish.
The botanical garden is known for its indigenous Hawaiian species of flora and fauna. The garden draws thousands of tourists every year. Situated on the slopes of Haleakala, the botanical garden has unique plants, koi pond, waterfalls, aviary, a covered bridge and amazing rock formations, which are spread over the area of 8 acres. If you are travelling with kids then this is the perfect place to visit. Children especially enjoy the exhibits of Jackson Chameleon, African Cranes, Nene geese and Aviary.
